It is very active indeed! feel free to ask questions, but search first! I don't feel like talking about the debug executable 1 more time! 
well, here is the debug exe download and how to set to windowed...

That is THE MOST useful tool for modding.
Then, open up the VideoDefault.con and set full screen to 0
Where video default is, it is in
(wherever your game is located)\Mods\bf1942\Settings
open up any con file with notepad.
(P.S. this is a copy paste of one I already typed! )

Welcome! I still pop in once a day or once every two days. I've been modding this game for a good 4+ years almost, so I can certainly show you how to do the basics and then some. There's plenty of other members here with modding background as well, so you have come to the right place!
