Battlefield 1942 is now free to play at Origin...

I went to origin site where it used to be in demos now moved to free games
When I just tried to join origin it whats you to update a new patch

EA now has no mention/support of anything before BF3 0.o Knew that route was such a fad

The ingame browser has already tooken a hit but still works.. does not lock up game. Some servers do not appear in it but if you faved it they will appear as faves only

We'll all be constructing mass shortcuts again yikes.. unless Gamespy's departure won't hurt ingame browser enough ? New master servers already ? Didn't EA type that they're making their own

I've been hearing that EA is dumping support for older BF titles and will even go as far as shutting down the BF2142 stat system. So say good bye to your BF2142 account.

Maybe this would be the perfect opportunity to try get them to release the source code to Refractor 2. It's starting to look like they don't intend to make any more money of the old BF games that ran on this engine.
