I have both BC42 ver 2.1 and BCV ver 1.2 but I can get ether to work. They both crash when I close the tip window. When I first got the game it worked but now it doesn't so I'm not sure where the problem lies. Here is some of the error message I get when it closes if that helps figure out the problem. I have an idea for a custom map and really need it to work or get someone to make the map for me from the information that I provide but I'd rather do more than just provide info and badges and backgrounds. My machine info is I'm running Win XP pro on a 1.7 gig cpu and 768 megs of ram 128 meg vid card that is up to date on the drivers. I'm on a very slow dialup connection 26.4 k so anything over 25 megs I won't be able to DL unless the server allows me to use DAP and resume so I can DL it over the period of days or weeks if it is a very large file. DLing at 2.6kps sucks. :(

hmmm this is what happens when you have windows vista or win 7 on the system... but xp should work fine.
I have seen suggestions about updating your graphics card drivers.... so i went and updated my drivers... but now nothing works.... my screen is black and cant see nothing... so i did a system restore and now is back to normal...
just goto the site for your graphics card drivers then download the update and all should work, well that's what others say

The vid card was updated before I installed the game and there still not a newer update that the one that is running now. I know what is causing the crash now with both BCV and BF42 it is the same file causing both to crash. But the file was on there when it worked so why it isn't working now I have no clue. The file that is crashing it is iglicd32.dll which is one of the intel vid drivers for my vid card.

It might be because your video card hasn't enough memory to render the graphic for it. I remember when I was using my on-board video card(ATI Radeon Xpress 250) that it would always crash, but when I updated to a nVidia 8800 GT(S) it would work like a charm.

if it is iglicd32.dll that causing it, then it may be a driver error. it seems to be something with Intels video cards and how it is handling OpenGL.

a friend of mine once had a problem with a (old game) game and OpenGL, and the only way we could get it to work correctly was to install a older version of the Intel graphic driver then the one he had already installed.

BTW Thanks Freddy I should have did this long before now. This is what was needed to get it working before the computer died from the storms. Maybe it will help someone else that the newest drivers are not always the best answer to the problem they may be the problem.
