Anyone think BF3 might be an MMOFPS something like PlanetSide?

Seems pretty cool to me. A map the size of France with a 1000 players on a server in a never ending war.

I'm pretty sure a "quad-core" would not be a requirement for the game to run. If that was so, it would rule out A LOT of their customer base. I mean really? Quad-Core CPUs are quite expensive.

I'm sure it won't run smooth as butter on a single core or dual core, but it would run. Once the demo/beta for the PC comes out (hopefully sometime this month or the next) we will know for sure what we would need to make the game run. I could care less if I can't get the game to run with all the bells and whistles maxed out. I just want a game that will work!

There is no PC demo. :(
You can join the beta at 28 January. But you need a beta key to join.
And you get a beta key by pre-ordering the game from an official EA partner. (Like amazon)

I guess I have to buy a new CPU to run the game smooth. :(
I've got a 6000+ @ 2,98 Ghz now :?
2GB Ram
8880 GT (512MB)
OS: XP Sp3

You can probably get BFBC2 to run respectively if you upgrade your ram and video card. I doubt you would need to upgrade the CPU.
