{SOLVED}Terrain/Earth Troubles

Post by GoodDayToDie!! »

Hello all,

So, I'm working on a map for the interstate 1982 mod. It's sort of a remake from an existing map. This map was made years ago but wasn't 100% complete.

Long story short, I started working on the final section of this map using bc42, and all the existing work shows up fine. The added content also shows up in bc42. Except for the land(islands, etc) don't appear in game when testing. When I generate in game map all the new land shows on the mini map. But it's not there.

Has anyone ever encountered this problem before? Any suggestions on how to correct it?

Please let me know if there are any details I'm leaving out that would help resolve this.

Thank you,

I said GOODDAY SIR!!

Hello. I'm not an specialist on this, but your problem reminds me of when I was making my big map in BC42. The solution for me was to use ED42 instead.
Battlecraft have a lot of limitations it seems. So if it is a complex or/and a big map, BC42 won't handle that correctly.

Thanks for zee reply!!

I just looked again and the map size is 2048x2048 which I believe is a medium size...

From what I can tell, this map was made in bc42.

So you're saying the actual map you walk on isn't showing/changed?

If so, maybe it's an issue with the heightmap? Unless you mean the textures aren't working...

Yes. Just the new land that you walk on(the existing land is still there).

I sent the map to Shrooms a second ago. Hopefully he'll see something I didn't.

heheh.. heightmap is the word you are looking for GD :)

if it's not showing then check:

terrain.con (this file determines where your heightmap is.. e.g. it could be in another rfa but being 'used' by this map)
also check that you actually have a heightmap file in your map.. sounds silly but.. :)

Well I'll be damned! That worked!

In terrain.con the original map name was still present in a few lines.

Thanks!
