The Best RFA unpack/pack program

Post by MillerMod »

Hi Mates!

Can you tell me, which is the best program for unpack a map, than after the work put again to a workable rfa?

I tried GMAKe rfa but something went wrong.
After i put custom objects, textures, standardmesh (correctly) into the map, than repacked it, i could not open it in rfa explorer to check everything is ok, but bc42 can edit it, save it etc. I tried it to test, but under the loading it crashed.

I will be very thankful for some help!

The MDT, I forgot where it is, but it has a winRFA program.

WinRFA works great for that. My personal preference is BGA though, found in the Tools thread. I find it to be more versatile and user friendly.

Also give singleplayermaker a try. WinRFA always crashes the maps for me.

Again ...

I think the problem is with the stuf i put in.

Is there a limit of spawnable objects (cars, planes etc) in bc42?

I don't think there is a vehicle limit, but the limiting factors is CPU, vehicles produce a fair amount of lag!

There is a limit of both spawnable objects and static objects any map can have (although after being out of the game for over 5 years, the exact number escapes me), and BC will give an error when trying to load above this limit...but I have never had a problem with winRFA loading any map that exceeded these limitations...weird issue indeed.

I've read somewhere that the map can load multiple StaticObjects.con files so that the map can have more static objects than the editor allows. But I have not tried this mod myself.

Ok, i just made some tests with the map.

The map is Desert Combat Final mod based.
If i made it with the dcf objects (cars, planes etc) it loads and playable.
But after i put in the custom objects the problem starts.

Basicly i wanted to make a race map with dcf and FH 0.7 vehicles. I selected some Forgotten Hope cars, trucks and i extracted the files that needs to load in a custom map.

Custom vehicles from FH 0.7:

Code: Select all

Barkasse\
Bedford OY\
GMC 2.5t\
Isuzu Type 94 Truck\
cupes.and.truck\
Laffly V15t\
NKL-26\
Piper L4 Grasshopper\
Red Tractor\
Riverboat
Sahariana\
Stormboat\
VW Typ 87E\
Yellow Tractor\
Zis 5\
I think the problem can be that some vehicles don't have the correct files, or DCF doesn't like other mods vehicles.
Because i tried to do the add in step by step, so i added the Bedford first and it worked with some problems.(The map loads, but Bedford doesn't take damage from any wepons.)

Any ideas?
