Eve of Destruction 6th Charlie don't Surf Event 2025

Hi friends of the Eve of Destruction Vietnam Mod, let's celebrate the 6th Charlie don't Surf Event 2025 at June, it's summer, we call on all our old veterans and friend's to during the event each first Saturday in month!


The hope is to reach more people outside for visit the HSLAN Server. We just hope you like it? Invite your friends or clan, all welcome. Feedbacks welcome in our comments after all News.


Moreover, we also strive to be on the hslan server with a few people particularly on weekends, Sunday and public holiday evenings from 8 pm CET. So please don’t just rigidly stick to the event, which takes place every first Saturday of the month, but feel free to spontaneously join in the evenings with your friends or clan.

Saturday night, the 7th June 2025 at 08:00pm CET o'clock we go, coat it on thick in your calendar or mobile Oragnizer.

For this new year let's rock that 1st Saturday mainevent on the HSLAN Server. And we will hope to collect the power of the community.



What you need to play?


1.) Battlefield 1942

2.) Here is the easiest way for you (need only, if no Server listed)) to find Server again, overwrite you old "bf1942.exe" in your folder: Download


3.) Eve of Destruction 2.51 Mod, got the 5 Parts + 2.51 Client Hotfix (don`t forget this small one): Download

Am besten manuell den Ordner 'EoD' in C:..........\Battlefield 1942\Mods löschen.

Wenn man einfach die ältere Version überschreibt, funktionieren Internet-Games nicht korrekt oder das Game startet gar nicht bzw. stürzt ab.

Erst nach dem löschen kann 2.5 installiert werden.

Bitte auch die beiden BF1942 Patches (siehe unten) nicht vergessen !

Game changes

ALL (!!!) maps have got new AI pathfinding and revised strategies.

Bots will be much more active now. Not more intelligent but more active.

So sorry, but there's no way to prevent bots from killing you with 1 shot sometimes.

This is due to the bf42 engine - and remember: a human player will do this also from time to time !


Most of the maps have been revised, bugs have been fixed and minor changes to enhance the gameplay. Because it is so much no listing is possible.


Some new effects have been added, for example a nice fog in the swamp.


All team classes have got correct ingame icons now.

Australians flag has been repaired.

NEW CODE

Netcode has been revised and debugged.

A lot of vehcles had code issues and caused crashes.

This should be a thing of the past now.


NEW AI_CODE

Most of the vehicles have new AI code and AI bugs have been removed.

The AI now uses everything: all vehicles and all weapons.


NEW SOUNDS

Sounds have been revised too so the mod works with 11, 22 and 44 khz now.

New jungle-sounds will improve the ambience and most of the vehicles have

got new soundeffects.


NEW EFFECTS

New detonation effects, tracers and many other awesome stuff have been added.

There are no really new vehicles within the mod but we have added lots of vehicles

Is working fine. We have tested about a week without any crash.

KNOWN ISSUES

Some vehicles with 3 (or more) weapons have a heatbar wich is not working.

This seems to be an bf1942 engine issue cause we've found no way to

repair it.

Some maps with large buildings will cause lag in COOP mode with many bots.

This may happen especially in Easter Offensive and in Tet Offensive sometimes.

Eve of Destruction 0.70 or 0.71 is required.

Older versions than 0.7x have to be deleted before installation !


Windows dedicated server

------------------------

Windows server should work with COOP now (tested with Win XP Professional).

You have to start the dedicated server in Windows 98 compatibility mode.

Point to C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 1942\DedicatedServer.exe

Right click / go to properties / Compatibility / and check Windows 98.
