Re: Community release of "Battlefield 1942 patch/update 1.7.
I do see the problem with executables, reverse engineering that would be a nightmare. We would really need EA to release the source codes like what was done with Quake (http://ioquake3.org). But if they have really "lost" the source codes it will probably never happen. Was sorta hoping tha...

Community release of Battlefield 1942 patch/update 1.7.0 ??
EA Games have burned and abandoned anyone playing the classic, Origin version was probably the last and final thing they did just to beef up Origin's statistics only. I was gone make a bold suggestion that maybe this community should look at making this patch: 1.7.0 update! I know from running aroun...

Bad Luck City.. a Conquest map for Desert Combat Soo... I have spent a long time making this map, not really on purpose, I was trying to fix a different map but ended up making this one instead. It's my first attempt at map making.. but I ended up in a circle going back to fix and add more things as...

Re: Audio files, file format problem, and tools to fix it..
I think from memory there was two types of audio file errors I noticed in the debugger log. I only looked at solving one of them which is the format of the data file I described above. The problem is that you can't tell what tags the audio editing software adds to the file format without viewing the...

Re: BattleCraft Mapping, Texture very large maps
You are gone need to move away from you comfort zone! Extract the map file (.rfa) that battlecraft makes, then find the folder called /Textures/ ...thats where the real map texture is. And replace those files with the ground textures you want, re-package it as a .rfa so you can play it in battlefiel...

Re: bfv mapping
Battlefield Vietnam is really based on Battlefield 1942 engine, jump over to that part of the forum and ask there instead. I am not a bfv guy, but at the bf1942 side there are some real guru's that are more likely to help you!

Re: gamespy-technology-shutdown-date
EA games does not make money on any games on the "death-list" (http://www.ea.com/1/service-updates). And "community" is not a word in contract that the CEO of EA Games signed. I have noticed that some of the guys on other forums are working on a new master-list server. If they ar...

Re: Death of GFMod domain....
You might get the domain name, but not access to the site. The problem is the web hosting where all the data is! And some of the hosting companies are a bit strict and might wipe the data as soon as payments stops (but they always have backups somewhere !). You could try to contact the hosting compa...

Audio files, file format problem, and tools to fix it..
INTRODUCTION Battlefield uses specific variation of wave file format. This can easily cause issues with creating audio samples with newer audio software, and samples are not played in the game as expected. To make sure your audio is in the correct format it is recommended to use Audacity 1.0.0 (see ...
