I do more modding work in 1942, but usually the root folder has to be 1942. The other one is just where you want to save it.

Yes. The only way to do it, is to edit your map (in windows, not in battlecraft42). The process is this. 1) You use a program like winrfa.exe to expand your map file into a series of folders. Have you tried running it in compat mode also "run as administrator"?
