You do need to make it a pco, but if you give it low mass the car should not change direction much and the cone will be flung

Copy the animations folder from the old sa-7 into the new sa-7's animations folder, that should solve the problem

Well you can make special kits that have spawners addTemplated to kitparts. Those spawners could then spawn special PCO objects (with dummy engines and such so you can make them stick to the spawner via holdObject) and have those PCOs absorb a certain amount of direct projectile damage before they ...
