Re: BF1942 Demo Server Crashes
Like Senshi said, let's hope dierighty can come up with another fix for the wake demo, too. Apart from that, I think that this community isn't the right place to discuss these "disagreements" there are between you guys. It's a fact that this exploit has been used by many people out there, ...

Re: Hi Everyone
It would be nice if other bf42 community sites could put this in their download sections.
On Bf-games.net they included it directly with the server files, for example.

Re: BF1942 Demo Server Crashes
That's why I think this patch should wear his name on it, like "v1.61 dierighty". Of course assuming this is ok for you.
BTW: Do we have an 'approve' for the Linux file?

Re: BF1942 Demo Server Crashes
Alright ;) A quick filecomp told me the rest of our two files is the same now. So again, here are some links for the readily patched files: Linux (based on RC2 v1.61): http://yehty.netii.net/dyryty/bf1942_lnxded.static.730patch.tar.gz (compressed, 4,25 MB) http://public.valkyrie-clan.com/BF42/bf1942...

Re: BF1942 Demo Server Crashes
Jeronimo, which version of linux dedicated server is that in your link? I looked at the executable and the offsets are mis-aligned so it'll crash. The one I used was from the 1.61 patch . I never ran or installed a BF42 on Linux, so I just took the latest bf1942_lnxded.static file I could find. The...

Re: BF1942 Demo Server Crashes
Chill man! This here could become very interesting for many more people than only you to read, so I thought it shouldnt be cluttered up too much with unnecessary double posts and merged them! Here's a download for a patched file according to his instructions. Remove the .exe extension after download...

Re: BF1942 Demo Server Crashes
Good man, dierighty!
Is there a chance you could make such a patch for the Windows executable, too?

Re: Merging bfmods and ServersideModding.com databases
You could send all 303 members of the new site a PM and ask them to send you the name (or even better: profile ID) of their old SSM account, if they had one. Then it should be easy for the merge guys to put this together, with some sort of 1:1 profile ID relation table. Problem is... what do you do ...

Re: PreCache.con
I still have this on certain BG42 maps when they forgot to put some vehicles in the Precache.con. You'd take a flag and suddenly your screen stands still for a second or two, because several vehicle types spawn for the first time and need to be loaded from HDD first.
