Hey Apache, I found a bug.
So the custom crosshairs and stuff works great with the full screen Hud and such, but the normal crosshairs (the ones that expand when you shoot and stuff) are positioned about 100 PX or so to the left a 100PX or so up (the are not centered) I don't know if it can be fixed but I thought I would tell you.
Thanks!

I moved the node for that to a higher up node in the tree and forgot to update it's position.
It's fixed now. Redownload it (I uploaded using same filename) and see if it's fixed.

That made no senseApache Thunder wrote:I moved the node for that to a higher up node in the tree and forgot to update it's position.
It works now! Thank you very much

Just out of curiosity, is there an image that the moving crosshair uses? or is it hardcoded in?

Well not entirely. It's defined in the meme file just like the normal crosshair. The expanding part is a effect node I think. You could most certainly customize it to use pre made textures instead if you wanted to.

This is really cool. But i don't have the first idea how to get this working. Do i need to copy/paste the downloaded folders/files somewhere in my bf42 directory ?

You need to extract the menu rfa and then replace the existing files with the ones from my vanilla mod. If you want to do this for a custom mod that had already edited the ingame HUD, then you'll need to manually edit the meme file which won't be easy if you are not familiar with the meme files.
But for vanilla BF42 or a mod that didn't change the ingame HUD meme file, just extract my rar file into the extracted directory of your menu.rfa, then repack the menu rfa and replace the one in your mod.
The "meme" file is the files at the root of the menu.rfa that don't have file extensions by the way.

The problem with using custom crosshairs is they don't react to recoil the way the vanilla crosshair does (i.e. no crosshair expansion when shooting). Is there any way to fix this?
