ED42 Texture Glitch

Post by Diamondback »

Hi all, I am currently texturing a map and cannot understand this weird glitch.

Basically I texture my heightmap with the layer tool in ED42, pack it, and play my map and everything works fine. However, the ground textures in game are much darker than in the editor and I have no idea why. I have tried fiddling with the lighting settings (copied some settings from sunny maps such as Coral Sea to my map's Init.con) but to no avail.

Here are some pictures so you can see the difference between the editor and the game:

1) Textures appear normal in ED42:

2) Textures are much darker when I test my map:

Any idea on what might be causing this and has anyone experienced this before with Editor 42? I am using the newest version of the program which is v0.41.

My OS is Windows 8.1 but I do not believe this is an issue related to my OS because I never had any major issues creating maps except for lightmapping custom objects.

Problem solved. It seems ED42 doesn't generate the ''Details.dds'' texture file needed to adjust the brightness of the ground textures, but BC42 does. Snatched the ''Detail.dds'' from Berlin and it worked fine. Thanks!
