Healing bullets?

Post by Swaffy »

Is there a way I can make a bullet that heals people instead of damaging them?
And if possible, only for teammates?

i thinkered a bit with this some years ago but i couldnt figure out any way to make it work then. i was meaning to try adding some health bubbles to the bullet and set them to work on a specific team, or if its possible to use a endeffect to spawn a "short lived" bubble. as for the team you would have to turn of friendly fire i guess. could be complicated if a enemy picks up your gun and start healing your team tho 8-)

How about bullets doing negative damage? So instead of an M1 Garand doing +10 damage to soldiers, it would do -10 damage to them?

Or the bullet's effect (after hitting the target soldier) would have healing attributes? Such as a temporary MedicLocker healing thing.

i think i tried that with no effect, but then again i dont remember if i did the changes in game.rfa or just mapbased. try make a new temporary material to lab around with in a map, i think its better than fiddling with those existing materials in the game.rfa

that could be worth to try, if i remember right one can limit the amount of healing a bubble can give (or was that just for ammo?) and so it would be "dead" after it is depleted.

Hmm. If it's attached to the effect, wouldn't it disappear once the effect's timeToLive expires?

I've been doing some cleaning up so that I can make a download for my mod.
I don't like having broken crap in my mod when I put out the next version.

My friend wants it, which is why I put aside drawing art to clean the mod up.
It's near done now, but the recent FOV change messed up a lot of cameras.

did you try to attach the healing bubble to a bundle then attach to a projectile or something?
What is the meaning of Life?? (Don't think about it!)
