I became aware of this game awhile ago. But since there is no tools out there to extract/repack the wierd archive format it uses for it's files, I am unable to view what it's coding structure is like. Thus I have no interest in that game right now. :P

just played this game today. its very very similar to battlefield. the key layout is old school (space shoot, ctrl jump). the expack seems to be setup identically to battlefield. the weapon loadout setup seems to be almost identical to bf (knife=1, pristol=2, sub/machine gun=3, etc), although there's only 1 kit that i can see. the game has a very impressive flame thrower. 1st time playing... i would say the only major difference between this game & battlefield 1942 is the graphics. the 3d models in this game is pretty piss poor... but the dynamics & character animations are great!

I've still not played this but an old work frend picked up a box of 48 original wrapped copies of this (in the big cardboard pc boxes) and still in the original shipping box.. For around $15! On eBay. He knew a many of the original devs for the game so was handing out copies to them. An epic bargain! It's the same engine as rally sport challenge I think which apache was detailing in the other thread.

Saying this is using the same engine as RalliSport racing is a bit of a stretch. While it does use the "Refractor" engine, it's the original refractor engine. RalliSport Racing and BF42 use Refractor 2, while Codename Eagle uses Refractor 1 engine.

So comparing Codename Eagle to Rallisport or BF42 is like comparing a dinosaur to a modern bird. (FYI birds are pretty much the only descendants of the dinosaurs still alive today, that and perhaps crocodiles and alligators, but they were around when the dinosaurs where so they weren't really dinosaurs to begin with. :P )

Comparing Rallisport to BF42 however is like comparing house cats to tigers. Much of them are still the same and the only real difference is the size and details. :D
